Credit assessment
ISO 14064 readiness checklist, credits by registry standard and the surplus allocation calculator.
Route: /app/assess. Combines your onchain NFT credits with the emission inventory from the
Emissions tracker to plan how many tonnes to retire, reserve and sell. It
sends no transactions.
ISO 14064 readiness
A self-assessment checklist, saved in localStorage per wallet (carb-iso14064:v1:<wallet>).
It is not a certification.
| Step | Completion rule |
|---|---|
| Inventory boundary defined | Checkbox |
| Base year set | Checkbox and a four-digit year between 1990 and the current year |
| Emission sources quantified | Detected automatically when the tracker has records for the selected year |
| Data quality and uncertainty documented | Checkbox |
| GHG inventory report prepared | Checkbox |
| Verified by a third party | Checkbox and auditor name, verification date and a document hash (0x + 64 hex characters, or an IPFS CID Qm… / bafy…) |
Ticked items with missing details show inline errors and do not count towards progress. The badge turns to Ready for verification once all six steps are complete.
Credits by registry standard
getUserCredits(address) reads every NFT you own and groups them by methodology (VERRA_VCS,
GOLD_STANDARD, ICM_COMPLIANCE). For each standard it shows the credit count, eligible
tonnes (not retired) and retired tonnes.
Surplus allocation calculator
Let E be the year's emissions from the tracker and C the eligible (non-retired) NFT tonnes.
| Result | Formula |
|---|---|
| Internal offset (retire to offset) | min(C, E) |
| Shortfall | max(0, E − C) |
| Surplus | max(0, C − E) |
| Reserve | surplus × slider % |
| Sellable surplus | surplus − reserve |
| Offset coverage | min(C, E) / E (shown as — when E = 0) |
The slider reserves a share of the surplus for future years or as a buffer. A donut chart shows the split with the coverage in the centre, and a stacked bar compares emissions with credits.
Next steps from the calculator: Retire credits (/app/carbon-wallet), Tokenize / wrap
(/app/tokenize) and Sell surplus (/app/sell-credits).
Planning only
The calculator does not retire, wrap or sell anything. It uses your connected wallet's NFTs only, so credits already wrapped into pooled tokens are not counted as eligible.
